Rajini visits A Konduru area, interacts with kidney patients

State Medical and Health Minister Vidadala Rajini has said that Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy has issued orders to her to solve the health problems by meeting the needs of kidney patients in the A Konduru area of the NTR district. The Minister, along with Medical & Health officials, made a field visit to A Konduru to inspect the medical services provided to the people affected by kidney problems.

During the visit, the Minister directly interacted with the kidney patients and enquired about the services provided to the patients. The Minister also examined the available drugs and diagnostic equipment. The new Dialysis Center to be set up in Ayush Hospital was inspected. During the visit, Minister Vidada Rajini gave many instructions and suggestions to the staff at every step. Afterward, a review was conducted with all the medical staff and PHC staff.

Speaking on the occasion, Minister Vidadala Rajini said that reports are also saying that the water problem is one of the reasons for kidney disease in this region. The aim was to provide safe drinking water to the people. She said that safe fresh water is being provided by tankers to the five Thandas which are affected by the disease. She said that all the ‘thandas’ in the mandal will receive fresh water through tankers within a week. It is stated that at present fresh water is being supplied by ten tankers and henceforth water will be supplied by 38 tankers.

She said that the government has taken up two projects for a permanent solution to this problem. One is the water pipeline work to be taken up from Kadapa with a fund of Rs 6 crore. These works will be completed in the next seven months. Another project is the pipeline work is going to be undertaken from Mylavaram at a cost of Rs 38 crore. She said that this project will be completed within one and a half years. She said that if these two projects are completed, safe fresh drinking water will be supplied to the entire house of A Konduru mandal. Till then, drinking water will be supplied through tankers.

She said that so far 378 people have been identified as suffering from kidney disease in the A Kondur area. Only 23 of them required dialysis and the rest were given medicines. She said that all should be given medicines free and even Dialysis is being done for free. She said that a dialysis unit has been set up in Tiruvuru so that dialysis can be done for the patients and another dialysis unit is being set up in A Kondur PHC which will be available in the next week.
