The three-day Kurnool visit of Telugu Desam party chief N Chandrababu Naidu rejuvenated the cadre and the Kurnool TDP leaders are buoyant at the massive turnout at the roadshows.

Naidu held roadshows and addressed the crowds at various places during his three-day Kurnool district tour. The TDP district leaders were happy as Naidu’s roadshows drew huge crowds. After a long gap, thousands thronged to Naidu’s meetings and roadshows in the district. Some TDP leaders said they had never seen such a massive attendance at Naidu’s meetings.

“Naidu’s district visit has come as a boost to the TDP cadre and an unprecedented massive turnout has filled enthusiasm among cadres. The TDP leaders are in a joyful mood as they have never expected such a massive crowd to attend Naidu’s road shows” a senior TDP leader said.

The crowds stood on balconies, terraces, branches of trees, and on walls to see Naidu and listen to his speech. In fact, the TDP local leaders did not put in the needed efforts to bring people to his road shows and meetings but people came themselves to Naidu’s road shows, a TDP leader claimed. The crowds waited for a few hours for the arrival of Naidu which they did not expect, TDP leaders said.

“Naidu had visited the Kurnool district previously many times but the attendance of people was moderate. But this time, the attendance was so huge that we did not expect it. This is really a good sign to the TDP and the super success of Naidu road shows clearly indicating that the TDP will bounce back soon”, a TDP leader opined.

It is expected that seven to eight lakh people have attended Naidu’s roadshows and public meetings during his visit to Kurnool, Prathikonda, Yemmiganur, Aluru, Panyam, and Kodumur constituencies.

Naidu’s three-day visit revitalised the party in the district. Naidu took eight hours to reach the airport from Prathikona which shows the unprecedented massive turnout of people for Naidu’s road shows. “Chandrababu Naidu himself was amazed at the sea of humanity at his road shows”, a TDP leader said.

The YSRCP leaders under the aegis of various organisations tried to obstruct Naidu at various places but that did not work. Some YSRCP supporters raised slogans in favour of three capital cities but Naidu made the people say ‘no’ to the three capitals concept. “Naidu’s comment that the government, which could not construct roads, is indulging in the tall talk about the construct of three capital cities, has gone down well with the people.”

Women also attended Naidu’s road shows in large numbers. Some of the women even complained to him against the YSRCP government. In some places, flowers were rained on Naidu indicating people’s mood.

TDP politburo member and former Union minister Kotla Surya Prakash Reddy said the amazing success of Naidu’s programmes is an indication of the disenchantment of people and he had never seen such huge turnout to road shows.

“The massive attendance is indicative of the enormous disenchantment against the YSRCP government among people. Naidu himself agreed that he had never seen such huge crowds in his road shows. We have mobilised people for only two meetings and at other places people attended themselves,” Suryaprakash Reddy said. Naidu’s Kurnool visit has infused enthusiasm, and confidence and rejuvenated the cadre, he stated.
