The summonses issued by Central investigation agencies to BRS MLC K. Kavitha and to YSR Congress MP YS Avinash Reddy had created a sensation in political circles.

The reason is that K. Kavitha is the daughter of Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao and Avinash Reddy is a cousin of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.

Whatever might be the reason K. Kavitha has got some relief as the Enforcement Directorate (ED) has slowed down the process of investigating her. But the CBI is not letting go of Avinash Reddy.

The ED had issued a summons to Kavitha in the Delhi liquor scam case. Kavitha appeared before the ED around five times. At one stage BRS circles thought that Kavitha’s arrest in the Delhi liquor case was inevitable.

At the same time, the CBI issued a summons to Avinash Reddy in the YS Vivekananda Reddy murder case. As expected, the CBI arrested Avinash Reddy and released him on bail.

Amid speculations over ties between the BRS and the BJP, Central investigation agencies slowed down their probe into cases involving BRS leaders like Kavitha.

But in spite of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s good equations with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, the CBI is not letting go of Avinash Reddy.

The CBI has issued a summons to Avinash Reddy to appear before them personally in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

There were speculations that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is trying to protect his cousin Avinash Reddy in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case using his influence with the Centre. But in reality, the picture was different.

The CBI arrested Avinash Reddy although there were speculations that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Jagan was exerting pressure on the Centre to prevent it from arresting Avinash Reddy.

During his recent visit to New Delhi, Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao reportedly spun the wheel to protect his daughter Kavitha in the Delhi liquor scam case.

It is a known fact that Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is very close to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and to Union Home Minister Amit Shah. But Telangana Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao has declared a political war against the BJP.

There were speculations that both the Telugu Chief Ministers are trying to protect their relatives.

But now it appears that the Telangana Chief Minister’s daughter Kavitha is safe in the Delhi liquor scam, but Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister’s cousin Avinash Reddy is in the hands of the CBI in the Vivekananda Reddy murder case.

The developments in the Kavitha and Avinash Reddy cases indicate that Telangana Chief Minister KCR is more powerful than the Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister.
