Renovated KDCA cricket nets opened

Director of Medical Education (DME) Dr V Vinod Kumar opened the renovated cricket nets of the Krishna District Cricket Association (KDCA) at the Siddhartha Medical College in Vijayawada on Thursday. He played cricket on the newly constructed turf wicket and interacted with the budding players.

Dr V Vinod Kumar, who is an IAS officer from Karnataka, used to be a cricketer. He played zonal matches with Karnataka’s Dodda Ganesh and others.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Kumar said that he was more interested in sports and passionate about cricket. He promised that he would support the cricketing activities in the district. Physical fitness is more important, he said and hoped that more players would be selected to the Indian team.

Siddhartha Medical College Principal Dr Vittal Rao, Andhra Cricket Association secretary Gopinath Reddy, joint secretary A Rakesh, Councillor Purushotham, KDCA Ad-hoc Committee chairman Trinadha Raju, member Penchalaiah, KDCA former president Srinivas, secretary Ravindranath Chowdary and others were present.
