Resolve pending cases expeditiously: DIG

Deputy Inspector General Dr.CM Trivikram Varma asked the district police officials to take steps to resolve the pending cases and prevent road accidents.

The DIG inspected the Vemuru police station on Wednesday. He went through the case files, station records, files of pending cases and suspect sheets. Later talking to the women police staff of the village secretariat, the DIG inquired about the law and order situation in the area of the station, the places where most of the road accidents take place, what measures being taken to prevent the accidents. He advised the women police to visit the houses of single women often, and gave several suggestions on the measures to be taken to curb crime.

Speaking to the media on the occasion, the DIG said that Vemuru Police Station under Raypalle Sub Division was inspected as part of the annual inspection. As part of this inspection, he reviewed the cases under investigation, grave cases and the reasons why some cases were pending for a long time, registered before 2020. The DIG said that many instructions were given to the authorities to speed up the investigation of the POCSO cases and the SC/ST atrocity cases which were under investigation. DIG Trivikram Varma said that they reviewed the places where road accidents occur within the police station and the measures being taken to prevent them. Special attention was being paid to control the crime of theft cases, he said.

Talking about cyber crimes, the DIG said that many people, academics and even professors have lost money in their accounts by clicking on malware and unknown links sent by cyber criminals. The Cyber criminals deceive people stating that the account numbers and credit cards would be blocked. When the links are clicked the fraudsters ask for the OTP and finally withdraw money from bank accounts, he cautioned. The DIG said that in the name of part-time jobs and job vacancies on Amazon the fraudsters lure the unemployed and students to be cheated.
