Telangana Chief Minister Aumula Revanth Reddy has directed the authorities to set up a special committee to propose appropriate guidelines for permanent settlement of land-related disputes across the state.
The Chief Minister held a review on Wednesday at the Secretariat on Dharani portal’s performance and land-related issues. Speaking on the occasion, Revanth Reddy suggested that the proposed committee should be set up on the lines of the Koneru Ranga Rao committee. The proposals of this committee should be aimed at finding permanent solutions to land-related disputes. In addition to Ministers, senior officials of the revenue department, farmers’ representatives, and experts in land-related laws should be members of the committee.
The Chief Minister directed the Chief Secretary to submit a detailed report on the decisions taken since the beginning of Dharani.
The CM said that the central government had given Rs. 83 crore for land survey, digitization and bringing title guarantee law. He sought to know what happened to those funds. The CM directed Naveen Mittal to give a report on all the issues raised by the Ministers, including the list of prohibited lands, assigned and patta lands.
The CM reportedly observed at the meeting that the Dharani portal, brought by the previous government for digitization of lands, had become a home for problems. During the elections, the Congress party promised to cancel Dharani and replace it with Bhumata Portal. To that end, Revanth Reddy reviewed Dharani for about two hours.
CMO officers Shivdhar Reddy, Seshadri and Shah-Nawaz Qasim participated in the meeting. Mahabubnagar MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy, farmers’ representatives Kodanda Reddy, Vem Narender Reddy, and representatives of farmers’ associations were present and expressed their views.
State Deputy Chief Minister, Finance Minister Bhatti Vikramarka, Medical, Health and Science and Technology Minister Damodara Raja Narsimha, Revenue, Housing, Information Minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy, Chief Secretary of the State Government Shanti Kumari, Chief Secretary of Revenue Department Naveen Mittal, and other high officials and public representatives were present.
