Rewarding excellence in energy efficiency

Special Chief Secretary Energy K Vijayanand, along with APTRANSCO JMD Vigilance B Malla Reddy, has presented State Energy Conservation Awards (SECA)-2022 to those government and private organisations that has shown excellence in the area of energy efficiency under the sectors of Buildings, Industries and Institutions.

During the valedictory function of the National Energy Conservation Week-2022 celebrations organised by the AP State Energy Conservation Mission in Vijayawada on Tuesday, the Special Chief Secretary and APTRANSCO JMD Vigilance presented the awards to APSRTC, gram panchayats, NTTPS, Simhadri Thermal Power Station, Divisional Railway Hospital etc.

NTPC, Simhadri National Thermal Power Station-Visakhapatnam, Padugupadu Gram Panchayat-Nellore, Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation-Vaddeswaram, Divisional Railway Hospital-Vijayawada, APSRTC Bus Station-Chittoor, Asian Paints-Visakhapatnam and NSL Textiles Limited- Edlapadu have won awards under Gold category.

Electric Traction Training Centre-Vijayawada, Udayanada Hospital Pvt Ltd- Nandyala, APSRTC Bus Depot-Maddilapalem, Tholukodu Gram Panchayat, NVH India-Anantapur, NSL Textiles Limited-Inkollu, Dr Dr Narla Tata Rao Thermal Power Station and APGENCO-Ibrahimpatnam won awards under Silver category.

CS Vijayanand also presented awards to the winners of the short video competition conducted for school children on the concept of energy conservation and energy efficiency, and appreciated the students.

Continued from page 3: He appreciated the School Education Department for their quick action in setting up more than 150 energy clubs in the model schools so far with the objective of habituating energy conservation in daily lives. Vijayanand appreciated APSECM for organising SECA for the third consecutive time in the State under energy efficiency category. He stated that AP had set a target of achieving more than 16,000 MU of energy savings by implementing energy efficiency measures in all the demand sectors.

Representatives of various industries, organisations and students of various schools participated in the function.
