Rich tributes paid to Gurajada

The Department of Telugu of PB Siddhartha Arts and Science College, Mogalrajapuram, on Thursday, observed the death anniversary of Mahakavi Gurajada Venkata Appa Rao. NCC cadets, NSS volunteers, and student club members wore Tricolour caps and formed a map of India on the college grounds.
On the occasion of Gurajada’s death anniversary, they sang his popular poem Desamuni Preminchumanna. Firstly, Siddhartha Academy of General and Technical Education Secretary Paladugu Lakshman Rao hoisted the national flag.
Lakshmana Rao said that Gurajada Venkata Appa Rao was a great poet and he inspired many with his writings, especially on social themes. He told the students that they should know about Gurajada and his writings and how they are useful for society. Particularly, Telugu students should know the complete life history of Gurajada, he added.
PB Siddhartha College Director Vemuri Baburao, Academic Dean Prof Rajesh C Jampala, Principal Dr Meka Ramesh, Head of Department of Telugu Dr N Siva Kumar, faculty members Dr P Neeraja, Dr Ch Masthan Rao, Dr AV Ramana Murthy, other department heads, faculty, club in-charges and NCC, NSS programme officers were present.
