Actress Ridhi Dogra has been the talk of the town, for all the right reasons. The actress, who will next be seen in Zee5’s Pitchers season 2 from December 23, speaks about the quintessential existential problems that we all face in life, working with Naveen, and her experience working for the show.
Ridhi Dogra, a name that the television soap opera fans reckon with, has left an indelible mark with her performance in Voot’s Asur. Her next big outing on the OTT market is TVF Pitchers season 2, which is all set to premiere on December 23.
Recently, in a conversation with us, the creator of the show Arunabh Kumar said, “Ridhi had to play the character of a VC(Venture Capitalist) who’s both mentally soft and hard at the same time and I am mighty impressed by how she pulled off the role with such ease.”
Perhaps, Ridhi’s inquisitiveness to dig deeper into the world of the character and not settling with what is given to her makes her stand apart from the regular. Now you know why Arunabh was mighty impressed with the actress’ performance.
A testament to her sheer conviction in playing the roles comes from Ridhi’s idea of herself as a person. Here she talks about the quintessential existential problems that we all face in life: “I don’t think there is any need for me, or anybody to limit ourselves to who I am. Of course, we all at some point in our lives understand what I stand for ? What are my principles in life? What are the value systems that I carry? And it takes a long time to even understand that. If I can speak for myself, I can tell you a million things that I’m not but I can’t tell you what I am.”
Naveen Kasturia proved his mettle as a powerhouse performer on several occasions. The charming star holds Naveen in the highest regard and spoke quite passionately about her association with the actor, “Naveen is a fabulous actor. I have not even told this to Naveen but he actually reminds me of another co-actor of mine and a dear friend Barun Sobti. Their working style is very similar. The minimalistic expressions and on the spot improvisations that almost surprise you, I love that. I always try to achieve that. He has a certain way of rehearsing. I don’t know if people will get it but when you relate with your character, you tend to say dialogues of your own. Naveen has this particular habit in between rehearsals where he says, “Main kya keh raha tha”. He fine-tunes the balance between under playing and over doing. He is very easy to work with and it’s quite evident in his personality. He doesn’t carry a lot of weight; all this weight is in his craft and that makes him one of a kind.”
Ending the interview on a good note, the successful actress shared her experience working with the Pitchers entourage, “I have shared most of my screen space with Naveen apart from that with Arunabh and Abhi. They bring a lot of comfort and share great camaraderie. From knowing each other for so many years and sort of building themselves with each other and growing their careers, it’s very adorable. They have so many memories and so many inside jokes, so much familiarity which is visible on-screen when they perform. They made me comfortable on sets. I feel honoured to work with TVF and their honest storytelling. There is a grounding factor to the way they all are and which is why they are loved by the audience. Every day of work was memorable in Pitchers Season 2. Arunabh is doing such a fantastic job, he is such a great team player. I look forward to working with them so you can imagine how memorable each day must have been for me.”
