Despite the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) being unable to produce a leader worth his/her name to win the MLA, ZP chairman or even a municipal chairman post in AP, its leaders seem to be good at internal squabbles.

The sacking of district presidents by BJP State president Somu Veerraju created a rivalry between Central executive member Kanna Lakshminarayana and Somu Veerraju. According to the BJP sources, some leaders complained to the high command that Kanna is quitting BJP. The removal of the district president by Somu Veerraju created an uproar in the BJP as some leaders resigned from their posts to register their protest.

The internal dissension between two senior leaders Somu Veerraju and Kanna Lakshminarayana have reached their peak. After the removal of district presidents, Kanna Lakshminarayana met Jana Sena Political Affairs Committee chairman Nadendla Manohar. A section of the BJP launched a campaign that Kanna is quitting the BJP to join the JSP.

It is learnt that the BJP leaders complained to the high command in Delhi about the meeting of Kanna with Jana Sena PAC chairman Nadendla Manohar but the high command did not respond.

A group of BJP leaders complained to BJP national co-secretary Shiva Prakashji against Kanna that he was making allegations before leaving the party.

Knowing this, Kanna Lakshminarayana’s followers made it clear that Nadendla Manohar made a courtesy visit to the house of Kanna. At the same time, they pointed out that Somu Veerraju’s close relative has joined the BRS.

“If the senior BJP leader, who is working with the YSRCP agenda, is given another chance to work as State president, some senior leaders who joined the BJP during the last few years cannot continue in the party,” Kanna Lakshminarayana’s followers said.

A BJP leader alleged that a campaign stating that Kanna is quitting the BJP has been carried out for the last couple of years. The campaign was run on social media that Kanna is joining the TDP at the behest of a senior leader, it is alleged. Kanna Lakshminarayana also complained to BJP high command that a senior leader is working against him and spreading false news.

Meanwhile, the ouster of six district presidents who were appointed by Kanna Lakshminarayana has led to discontent in the BJP AP unit as four State committee members and over 100 other leaders in Palnadu and Prakasam district have resigned from their posts.

A senior BJP leader admitted that the BJP State president’s unilateral decision to remove district presidents put the BJP in turmoil.
