‘Sharmila is last resort in Naidu’s conspiracy’

Must read

Vijayawada: In response to the comments made by YS Sharmila Reddy, the newly appointed chief of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), State Government Advisor Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy has accused the Congress party of betraying the legacy of Dr YSR (Y. S. Rajasekhara Reddy) and claimed that the Congress had even included YSR’s name in the charge sheet.
Addressing the media on Sunday, Sajjala criticised the language and tone used by Sharmila, stating that it was inappropriate. He defended Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s commitment to fulfilling the aspirations of Dr. YSR, asserting that as YSR’s successor, CM Jagan has garnered widespread support from the people across the state. Sajjala highlighted the challenges faced by YSR’s family after his demise, alleging that it was the Congress that troubled them and implicated YSR’s name in the FIR.
Posing a series of questions, Sajjala queried Sharmila’s knowledge of the Congress party and questioned her sudden move from Telangana to Andhra Pradesh. He sought clarification on Sharmila’s role in the Congress Party in Telangana, emphasizing that the party did not recognise her there, and questioned why she refrained from contesting in Telangana.
Sajjala suggested that Sharmila’s involvement in Andhra Pradesh was strategically motivated, insinuating that she was brought in to assist a particular agenda, and pointed fingers at Chandrababu Naidu for this. He alleged that Sharmila was the last resort in Chandrababu’s conspiracy against the YSRCP.
Highlighting the Congress party’s decline in Andhra Pradesh and the TDP’s precarious state, Sajjala contended that Congress received fewer votes than NOTA in the 2019 elections and accused the party of collaborating with Chandrababu Naidu to the detriment of Andhra Pradesh. He challenged Sharmila to explain why the Congress government did not discuss the issue of special status and emphasized that the YSRCP’s struggle for special status continues.
Sajjala asserted that opposition leader Chandrababu Naidu was unable to account for his actions during his five-year tenure and affirmed that CM YS Jagan will prioritise the state’s interests. He concluded by expressing admiration for Sharmila as YSR’s daughter and YS Jagan’s younger sister.
