YSR Telangana Party chief YS Sharmila on Wednesday tasted Neera at the Lakshminarayanapuram stage as per the request of a toddy tapper. She said that even though she was not in the habit of drinking Neera, she tasted a little at the request of the worker.
Sharmila reached Palakurthi constituency in the Jangaon district of Telangana as part of her Padayatra.
After listening to their problems, Sharmila promised all support to toddy tappers if the YSRTP came to power in Telangana.
Neera is a popular drink in many parts of Telangana, usually a natural energy drink offered to weary travellers and is sold by the roadside.
During her roadshow, she said, “I will always be indebted to the people of the constituency who supported YSR’s child in the Prajaprasthanam padayatra. I am telling you that I will serve the people of Telangana in the spirit of YSR who dedicated his life to the people and will back welfare rule.”
“There are more bars and belt shops than schools and temples under KCR regime. That’s why Minister Dayakar Rao asked sarpanches to sell beer bottles and earn income. Revanth Reddy, who was caught in the cash-for-vote case is on a false trip. KCR’s irregularities have been going on as the Congress and the BJP are sleeping,” Sharmila said.
