President of the Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), YS Sharmila, is reportedly gearing up to vie for the Lok Sabha seat from the Kadapa Parliamentary constituency.
Sources within the Congress party suggest that the party’s high command views Sharmila as a fitting candidate for the Lok Sabha contest from Kadapa.
Speaking to The Pioneer, APCC vice-president Kolanukonda Sivaji disclosed that the official announcement regarding Sharmila’s candidacy for the Kadapa Parliamentary constituency is expected from the Congress high command in the coming days.
A senior Congress leader, speaking on condition of anonymity, informed this correspondent that both YS Sharmila and YS Vivekananda Reddy’s daughter, YS Sunitha, are determined to challenge YS Avinash Reddy in the upcoming elections for the Kadapa Parliamentary constituency. However, the final decision rests with the Congress high command, the leader stated.
It is understood that a senior leader of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) has hinted at YS Sharmila’s readiness to contest the Lok Sabha seat from the Kadapa Parliamentary constituency.
