Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy had extended invitations to four Union Ministers, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, to attend the Praja Palana Dinotsavam celebrations. The Telangana government has decided to commemorate the start of democratic governance in Telangana, which began on September 17, 1948. The celebrations will be held at Nampally Public Gardens, Hyderabad, and the Chief Minister has urged the ministers to attend the event. Meanwhile, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will not be attending the Telangana Liberation Day celebrations to be held on September 17 at Parade Grounds to be organized by the Central government. However, Union Minister of Culture and Tourism Minister Gajendra Singh Shekawath will attend the celebrations. In fact, Union Minister of Coal and Mines G Kishan Reddy is also attending the celebrations as the chief guest and will unfurl the national flag. Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar will also be participating in the celebrations. According to a note issued by the State BJP on Friday, under the auspices of Ministry of Culture, Government of India, Hyderabad Liberation Day celebrations are being organised at Parade Grounds, Secunderabad on September 17, to commemorate the liberation of the Hyderabad Samsthan from the clutches of the Nizam in 1948. As part of the celebrations, para-military forces and defence forces will conduct a parade after unfurling of the National Flag. Cultural programmes depicting the historic Hyderabad struggle are going to be part of the celebrations. As a prelude to the Telangana Liberation Day celebrations scheduled on September 17, a rehearsal is being organised on the entire event on September 14 from 9 am at Parade Grounds. Dr K Laxman, Member, Rajya Sabha, National President of BJP OBC Morcha, will take stock of the parade rehearsal and examine the preparedness of the cultural programmes.
