Brimming with pride and emotion, meritorious Class 10 and Intermediate students received the prestigious ‘Shining Stars’ awards from Andhra Pradesh Education Minister Nara Lokesh at a heartfelt ceremony held in Parvathipuram.

The awards, recognising outstanding performance in board examinations, served as a powerful reminder that encouragement and recognition can ignite ambition and self-belief in students, regardless of their socio-economic background.

Sai Bhuvanakruthi Vakudavath, a Class 10 student from Narayana School who scored an impressive 594 out of 600, described the honour as a “brilliant idea” that uplifts morale. “Receiving the award from Lokesh sir is a once-in-a-lifetime moment. I feel emotional and grateful. My mother works as a lab technician in Guntur—I wish she could be transferred to Parvathipuram so we could live together,” she said. She credited the 100-Day Action Plan for boosting her exam confidence and expressed her dream of becoming an IAS officer.

Singh Bangaruthalli, an Intermediate vocational student from Government Junior College, Salur, who secured 901 out of 1,000, thanked the government for recognising vocational students on par with others. “Schemes like Dokka Seethamma midday meals and the supply of quality books and bags helped us concentrate on our studies. I want to become a bank officer,” she shared.

Karunam Rohit Kumar of Sri Sathya Sai Junior College, who scored 940/1,000, said the award proves that poverty is no obstacle to success. “I want to pursue software engineering in the CSE stream and use innovation to serve the underprivileged,” he said.

Parents too were moved by the recognition. Vasanthala Srinivasa Rao, father of Deekshith Sai—a visually impaired student who scored 761/1,000 with the help of a scribe—said, “Lokesh sir’s support gives us hope. This is my son’s first award, and it is a huge inspiration.”

Aluvari Santhoshi, mother of Tanuja who scored 576/600 from ZP High School, Makkhuva, said, “We never expected such recognition. My husband is a mechanic and I am a homemaker. We humbly seek financial support for her higher education.”

The ‘Shining Stars’ awards seek to celebrate academic brilliance and foster aspirations among Andhra Pradesh’s promising youth, regardless of their economic standing.
