The state government will try to bring a single window system to give permissions for establishing a nursing home in municipalities, said Health and Finance Minister Harish Rao, while speaking at the India Medical Associatioion TSCON 2022 conference in Karimnagar on Sunday.

Harish Rao said, “I was given a proposal by people that the process of establishing a nursing home is very long drawn in terms of time and money as well. Telangana has TS-iPASS, where there is a single window system for establishing any industry. Telangana is a role model in such policy. Similarly in the health department also, after discussing with the Health and Principal Secretary, we will soon bring in a single window system in the health department as well. The representation also requested for fire services. Last month, there was a fire accident in Tirupati which resulted in the death of a doctor. Thus I have requested officers of the fire department to cooperate with the old nursing homes and bring in a proper regulation.”

While talking about the Clinical Establishment Act, the minister said there are some flaws in the Act and practically it is not feasible. That is the reason the Act has been passed, but has not been brought into implementation. If there are any more problems in the system, I request the members of IMA to bring it to my attention so that the government will take steps to resolve them,” he added.

The conference was attended by Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar, Mayor Sunil Rao, Jagtial MLA Sanjay Kumar and members of IMA.
