Six held for killing spotted deer in Mulugu

Forest officials in Telangana’s Mulugu district arrested six persons for killing a spotted deer on December 25.
The accused used electric wires to trap the deer, which was recovered by the officials along with the skin of the deceased animal. The authorities also launched the “Catch The Trap” initiative across Telangana to tackle the trapping issue. All kinds of material used for trapping is being seized by the police.
In an incident reported from Khammam, a person died after coming in contact with an electric wire which was laid for the deer. The authorities are taking preventive measures to deal with the issue, and have urged people to report incidents of animal hunting.
