Industries and IT Minister Gudivada Amarnath has made it clear that Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy has received an invitation on November 25 from the organisers to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) conference to be held in Davos.

The Chief Minister also attended the Davos meeting earlier where the government had signed Rs 1.25 lakh crore worth of MoUs with various companies to invest in AP, the Minister recalled.

Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, the Minister said that the AP government is organising the ‘Global Investment Summit’ in Visakhapatnam on March 3 and 4 and the government is focussing on making it a success.

“The government has invited many investors from various countries to the Visakhapatnam summit. That is why the government has decided not to attend the Davos meeting this time,” he made it clear.

Minister Amarnath said that during the TDP regime, they attended five conferences in Davos and claimed many MoUs with various companies but no one had invested here.
The Minister dared the TDP leaders to release a ‘White Paper’ on the investments received during the five years TDP regime. He dismissed the misinformation being spread by the TDP on social media that the AP government did not receive an invitation to attend the WEF conference in Davos.

Stating that good governance is being provided by the YSRCP-led government, the IT minister said that the ‘Global Investment Summit’ will be organised in Visakhapatnam on March 3 and 4 and the government is making efforts to bring all investors to the summit.
He claimed that AP has stood at the top in various sectors and also in Ease of Doing Business. AP has achieved 11.43 GDP and registered exports worth Rs 1.50 lakh crore.

Till October 31, 2022, Rs 97,000 crore worth of exports were carried out from AP during the year, and at the same time, Telangana state achieved only Rs 55,000 crore worth of exports.

The Minister said that conducive atmosphere prevailed in AP to invest as copious rains occurred and all reservoirs were full, adding that Covid pandemic badly hit the state unprecedentedly.

The Minister said that on an average Rs 15,000 crore worth of investments have been made each year since the YSRCP established the government.  Moreover, Rs 1.70 lakh crore worth of new projects are in the pipeline, he added. Recently, the government has signed an MoU with Green Energy in Kakinada for an investment of Rs 2,000 crore, the Minister said.
