Special steps for Bhavani Deeksha Viramana’ from December 15 to 19

Goddess Kanaka Durga Temple Executive Officer D Bhramaramba has said that the programme of ‘Bhavani Deeksha’ relinquishment will be conducted from December 15 to 19. Special arrangements have been made for the relinquishment of the ‘Deeksha’. The darshan of the goddess will be allowed from 3 am to 11 pm.

She said that on the first day of ‘Bhavani Deeksha’ relinquishment on December 15 the darshan of the Goddess will begin at 6 am and by 6.30 am ‘Homagunda Agni Prathista’ will be started. On December 19, ‘Maha Purnahuti’ will be performed. Compared to previous years, more devotees are expected this year, and arrangements are made for the devotees to come in queue lines on the ghat road and come to the ‘Homa Gundam’ for relinquishment, said the EO.

She said that tickets of Rs 100, Rs 300, and Rs 500 are being made available for the convenience of devotees. Bus facility is arranged from VMC holding area and Model Guest House for the devotees with a ticket of Rs 500 and will have darshan through a special queue line at Om-turning. Arrangements are being made to distribute Annadanam in the form of packets as devotees will come in larger numbers. About 10 ‘Prasadam’ counters are being set up at Kanakadurga Nagar, 1 counter at the bus stand, and 1 counter at the railway station. About 20 lakh laddus are being prepared and 15 lakh water packets are made available.

The EO said that more than 800 barbers are being made available for Bhavani devotees in 3 shifts at 3 places – Seethammavari’s padalu, Bhavani Ghat and Punnami Ghat and showers are being arranged and the devotees are requested to discard their clothes in specially arranged stalls. Cloak room is arranged by VMC for free.

She said that 20 medical camps are being set up under the direction of DM&HO. In addition to the existing 200 CC cameras, additional 57 CC cameras will be installed and continuous monitoring will be done from the collector’s office, control room and model guest house. All the arrangements for the relinquishment of ‘Bhavani Deeksha’ will be completed by December 13, EO Bramarambha said.

Vedic Committee members R Srinivasa Shastri, Executive Engineers KVS Koteswara Rao, Lingam Ramadevi, Assistant Executive Officer P Sudharani, N Ramesh B Venkata Reddy were present.
