The Board of Intermediate Education announced the results of the Senior Intermediate Advanced Supplementary examinations on Wednesday, revealing a 59% overall pass rate. The pass rate includes 59% of boys and 58% of girls across both general and vocational candidates.
Parvathipuram district topped the general category with an 84% pass rate, while West Godavari district recorded the lowest at 41%. In the vocational category, Parvathipuram Manyam led with a 79% pass rate, and YSR district had the lowest at 41%.
Subba Rao VV, controller of Intermediate examinations, announced that 3,74,598 general candidates had an overall pass percentage of 87%, while 29,798 vocational candidates achieved an 84% pass rate. These figures combine results from both the Public examinations held in March and the Advanced Supplementary examinations in May. Subba Rao addressed the press on Tuesday at the Board of Intermediate headquarters.
Subba Rao highlighted an unprecedented initiative by the BIE to scan all 1,27,190 answer scripts before valuation. Specialized software was used for counting to avoid common errors, ensuring meticulous and accurate valuation.
Second-year candidates can apply for re-verification of their answer scripts, but not for recounting. The application period for re-verification is from June 20 to June 24, with a reduced fee of Rs. 1000 per subject (down from Rs. 1300). Subba Rao assured that re-verification results will be announced within three to four working days, noting that scripts have already been uploaded to streamline the process.
Additionally, the controller of exams announced that first-year results will be declared on June 26, 2024. He emphasized the goal of increasing admissions into Intermediate courses at government junior colleges, aiming to surpass previous years’ enrollment numbers
