Industries Minister D Sridhar Babu took part in the ground- breaking ceremony of Apollo Microsystems on Monday.
In this new manufacturing facility with a proposed total built up area of 3,50.000 sqft, the company will be investing over Rs 200 crore and providing employment to about 400 people in three years.
Speaking on the occasion he said, “Glad to be here to lay the foundation stone of the Weapons Systems Integration Facility of Apollo Microsystems Limited at the Aerospace Park in TSIIC Hardware park 2 in Hyderabad. I am happy to know that Apollo Microsystems which is a leading Telangana-based public listed company working on critical Defence and Space technologies is entering its 40 year of operations this year”.
He said that Telangana government under the leadership of Chief Minister Revanth Reddy Garu is committed to empower more MSMEs and create more high value employment opportunities in Aerospace and Defence sector in the State.
He said that the company is one of the first private companies in Hyderabad to work for Department of Space and Defence offering design services. “It has a strong R&D team making great contributions to indigenisation of technologies for land air and sea applications.”, Sridhar Babu said
Industries Minister said, “ Aerospace and Defence a core industrial segment for the State. Historically Telangana region is the foremost Defence manufacturing hub in India with over a dozen DRDO labs and DPSUs. We have one of the largest cluster of MSMEs working for Defence and Aerospace and Space industry with over 1000 MSMEs being part of domestic and international supply chains. Today Hyderabad is the most preferred Aerospace manufacturing hub for global OEMs such as Lockheed martin, Boeing, Airbus, Safran, GE Aviation etc”.
He said, Telangana is consistently ranked the Best State for Aerospace by Government of India and has won the biennial Best State award for Aerospace from Ministry of Civil Aviation 4 times in a row (2018, 2020, 2022 , 2024).
