CPI national executive member Chada Venkata Reddy has alleged that the BJP government at the Centre turned cooperative sector inefficient.
He was taking part as chief guest at the district level convention of the MNREGS workers held at a function hall here on Sunday. The event was held under the aegis of the Telangana Agricultural Workers’ Association.
By virtue of the historic struggles waged by farmers, the Centre had withdrawn three farm laws, he said, reminding the Centre of its assurance.
However, the Centre did not implement its assurances to the farmers and attempting to hand over the farm sector to the corporate forces, he alleged.
Further, he alleged that the Centre did not withdraw the cases foisted on the farmers and did not pay compensation to the bereaved family members of 700 farmers.
He appealed to the CPI workers to unseat the BJP government during the next elections as it is conducting itself fraudulently.
He demanded that the Centre to give crowbars, spades and other hand tools to the NREGS workers working in villages, sought payment wages once in a fortnight. He also demanded payment of Rs 10 lakh as compensation to the bereaved family members of NREGS worker.
Agricultural Workers’ Association state general secretary M Balamallesh, CPI district secretary G Venu and others took part in the event.
