Steals Sanjay’s thunder

The TRS seems to have picked on YS Sharmila as she is a better bet than Sanjay. The high drama at the Pragathi Bhavan deflected focus from the Praja Sangrama Yatra of Sanjay, the Praja Prasthanam Padayatra of Sharmila and she dominated Telangana politics for a whole day.

Sources indicate that whether strategic or not, if it was political, Sharmila’s dharna and arrest has damaged the BJP directly. However, but interestingly the TRS continued to tag her along with the BJP. TRS leader Krishank Manne said, “The language used by Sharmila ji is indecent, unlawful and provocative. TRS MLAs ignored her but her followers got provoked by her speech.

Her stunt is scripted by Amit for media’s attention and the BJP jumped in to support her. Does she expect the police not to act when she tries to barge in with a car?.” However, it is important to note that the police told the media that Sharmila had planned a protest at Pragati Bhavan and so was placed under house arrest.A large number of policemen were been deployed at Lotus Pond. But after a few hours, the media got information that she had left for Pragati Bhawan ignoring the police.

Several questions have been raised like how could that be possible? The real scene started near Panjagutta when the police stopped Sharmila from going towards Pragati Bhavan with the vehicles destroyed in the Narsampeta attacks. Sharmila refused to come down. After struggling for a while, a crane was brought and she was lifted along with the car and taken to SR Nagar Police Station. Finally, the doors of the car were forced open and taken to the police station. Cases were filed under three sections for obstructing traffic. 

There were not even a hundred YSRTP activists in this act, they managed to create enough ruckus. At a time when Sanjay started the fifth leg of the padayatra from Bhainsa in Nirmal district on Tuesday, no one knew about it and there was no trend in social media either. Interestingly the BJP tried to attract attention. Sanjay tweeted in solidarity of Sharmila’s caravan being burnt on Monday.

On Tuesday, Kishan during his speech spoke about the sad state of affairs.  Meanwhile, Telangana Redco Chairman and TRS Social Media Convener Y. Satish Reddy expressed his anger at the AP Government Advisor and YSR Congress Party leader Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy’s statement that Sharmila’s arrest in Hyderabad hurt him. He asked why Sajjala Ramakrishna Reddy did not respond when the leaders of Telangana were accused by Sharmila.

“Didn’t it hurt you when Sharmila called KCR 420 and hurled abuses at MLC Kavitha? Y. Satish Reddy said that the people have been patient for many days but the Narsampeta incident happened when Sharmila spoke out of tune.

He said that Sharmila has once again tried to do publicity near the CM’s camp office after speaking wrongly.That is why the police arrested her. If such an incident had happened in Andhra Pradesh, the YSR Congress government would have lathi-charged them and joined them in the hospital.”
