‘Steps taken to curb drug menace’

Eluru Range Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Pala Raju has said that steps were taken to check the drug peddlers and eradicate the drug menace in the Eluru police range.

The DIG, flanked by Eludu district SP Rahul Dev Sharma, WG district SP U Ravi Prakash, and Krishna district SP Jashuva, addressed a press conference here on Tuesday.

The DIG said that 37 persons were arrested in 7 loan app cases and Rs 13 crore was seized. He said that full focus was laid on curbing crimes against women.

He said that complaints were received on the harassment of loan app money lenders. He said that two persons died unable to bear the harassment of loan app money lenders in Rajahmundry. It was found that the origin of loan apps is in foreign countries.DIG Pal Raju said that steps were taken to get the accused in POCSO cases at the earliest by completing the cases. Steps were also taken to ensure the reduction of school dropouts. “10% murders have been prevented in the Eluru Range through Ward Village.

Surveys conducted by the Village Women Welfare Secretaries, 87% of the women missing cases have been resolved in the Eluru Range area and the missing women were found and handed over to their family members, and 13% of the missing women are yet to be traced,” the DIG said.

The DIG said that in the background of previous cases registered against organizers of cockfight cases, bind-over cases were registered against 3,302 people, strong surveillance had already been set up for the prevention of cockfight gambling, and notices are being issued to the managers of bars in villages, and suitable arrangements have been made so that all people can celebrate festivals in green villages with happiness.
