Stones were pelted at Vande Bharat Express by some miscreants in Vizag on Wednesday. The Railway Protection Force (RPF) has reportedly identified the suspects and has launched a manhunt to nab them, sources in the Indian Railways said. Two window panes of the express train were damaged in the incident and the Railway Police have launched an investigation into the matter.
Two window panes were totally shattered and needed to be replaced. CCTV footage will be checked and strict action will be taken against the culprits when they are nabbed, the official added. The damaged train was slated to run between Telangana’s Secunderabad and Visakhapatnam. Eighth in the series of India’s semi-high speed trains, it was set to be flagged off from Secunderabad Railway Station by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 19. The train, the second to run in southern India, would have halts at Warangal, Khammam, Vijayawada and Rajahmundry stations.
