BRS MLC K Kavitha demanded that the State government provide a job to one of the family members of H Venkat, a student, who was allegedly killed by his juniors at a government residential welfare hostel in Bodhan on Sunday. She consoled the bereaved family and extended their solidarity. She also demanded that the government Rs 15 lakh ex gratia to the bereaved family members of the murdered student.
A murder case was registered against eight hostellers in connection with the murder of their fellow hosteller Haryala Venkat of Tipparam village of Yellareddy Assembly constituency. She criticised the government for its negligent attitude.
She appealed to the government to take steps to prevent the recurrence of such incidents. She said that students’ deaths occurred in Telangana of late.
It was unfortunate to note that there was no Education minister in the Congress government, she said demanding the government to take steps to recur such incidents in future. She questioned Revanth Reddy do you call it Praja Palana.

She urged the District Collector to at least post a police constable at the residential schools if there is no full-time watchman. Further, she demanded compensation of Rs 15 lakh to the bereaved family members, a pension for the mother of the deceased a government job to the deceased’s brother and a 2 BHK house to the family.
