The State government has constituted the ‘Swarnandhra-2047’ Task Force for Industrial Development, with Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu serving as Chairman. This strategic initiative, notified through GO MS 93 issued by Industries and Commerce Secretary N. Yuvaraj on Tuesday, aims to map out a long-term roadmap for the state’s economic growth in line with the centenary of India’s independence in 2047.

The high-level task force has been formed in the backdrop of the recently announced New Andhra Pradesh Industrial Development Policy 4.0 (2024–29) and a series of updated sectoral policies. These include the AP Integrated Clean Energy Policy 4.0, AP MSME and Entrepreneurship Policy 4.0, AP Food Processing Policy 4.0, AP Electronics Manufacturing Policy 4.0, and AP Industrial Parks Policy 4.0. Together, these policies seek to foster a conducive investment climate, address climate change, and create employment opportunities.

The proposal for setting up the task force was strongly supported by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), which highlighted the need to identify new economic growth areas, address infrastructure gaps, assess capital needs, and review current policy frameworks to suggest vital reforms that would help realise the vision of a prosperous “Swarna Andhra Pradesh” by 2047.

The ‘Swarnandhra-2047’ Task Force boasts an impressive lineup of leaders from various sectors. Joining CM Chandrababu Naidu as Chairman, Tata Sons Chairman N Chandrasekaran will serve as Co-Chairman. The distinguished list of members includes CII Director General Chandrajit Banerjee, Apollo Hospitals Vice Chairperson Preetha Reddy, Suchitra Ella, Prof. Raj Reddy, Satish Reddy, GMR Group Chairman GM Rao, Chief Secretary Vijayanand, L&T Chairman Subrahmanyan and TVS Motor Chairman Srinivasan.

The task force has been entrusted with the responsibility of preparing a comprehensive blueprint for economic transformation. It will consult extensively with industry leaders, policymakers, and subject experts. Their inputs will shape the final report.

Its key mandates include identifying growth avenues, addressing infrastructure and capital requirements, and recommending policy and regulatory reforms. The task force will also provide econometric projections of the state’s Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) for 2030 and 2047, setting clear economic milestones.
