Tabs for students in govt, aided schools

District Collector AS Dinesh Kumar said that over 25,000 tablet computers were being distributed to the students as teachers in Prakasam district.

The Collector, along with Mayor Gangada Sujata, participated in a programme organised to distribute the tablet computers to the students here on Wednesday. Chief Minister Y S Jagan Mohan Reddy launched the distribution of tablet computers at Yadavalli in Tsundur mandal in Bapatla mandal today.Speaking on the occasion, the Collector said that 25,000 tablets would be distributed in the district of which 2,200 to the teachers.

He said that each tablet computer costs about Rs 16,000 besides Rs 15,000 worth subject content was uploaded in the tablets. Collector Dinesh Kumar said that the tablet computers were being distributed to the students studying at the government and aided schools as part of providing quality education. The state government had initiated efforts to bring revolutionary changes in the education system. Subjects and lessons were uploaded in the tabs for the convenience of students.

The tablets would be extensively useful for the students to enhance their knowledge on the subjects. The tablet would also be a lot of useful to the students to prepare for examinations and competitive tests. The distribution of tablets would be taken up from Thursday at mandal level. State Arya Vysya Corporation chairman Kuppam Prasad, Madiga corporation chairman Kommuri Kanaka Rao and state child protection commissioner member Battula Padmavati and DEO B Vijaya Bhaskar were among those who were present.
