Take steps for success of ‘Bhavani Deeksha Viramana’, says Dilli Rao

NTR District Collector Dr S Dilli Rao has directed the officials concerned to make arrangements for the successful conduct of ‘Bhavani Deeksha Viramana’ scheduled for December 15 to 19 atop the Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada. All departmental officers should coordinated with one another and provide amenities without any lapses, he said.

Dilli Rao convened a meeting with the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, Endowments Department, police, and Vijayawada Municipal Corporation officials on the relinquishment of ‘Bhavani Deeksha’ at the collector’s camp office in Vijayawada on Saturday.

Speaking on the occasion, the collector said that the Durga temple authorities expect about 50,000 to 1 lakh Bhavanees per day to visit the Durga temple. On December 16, 18, and 19 about one lakh devotees are expected to visit the temple. In this connection, all departments should make necessary arrangements, he added.

He further said that this year more Bhavani devotees would come when compared to the previous year. So, all departments should provide better facilities for bathing ghats, ‘Giri Pradakshina’, ‘Homagundam’, relinquishment of ‘Bhavani Deekshas’, and taking darshan of the Durga Devi.

The Collector directed the Medical and Health Department authorities to provide ‘108’ ambulances at 8 identified places. “Use the vacant place in front of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation office for parking. Queue lines will start from Vinayaka Temple,” he added.

Temple Executive Officer D Bhramaramba said that Rs 100, Rs 300, and Rs 500 darshan tickets are available besides the free darshan facility for Bhavanees. The ticket counters are set up at the VMC office, Vinayaka temple, and Majid, opposite the model guest house, she added.

NTR District Revenue Officer K Mohan Kumar, Additional DCP Sarkar, West Zone ACP Dr K Hanumantha Rao, temple EEs KVS Koteswara Rao, L Rama Devi, and VMC EE Narayana Murthy attended.
