Following the tradition, TTD EO AV Dharma Reddy offered silk vastrams to Tanikesan, the chief deity of the famous Murugan temple in Tiruttani on the auspicious occasion of Adikrittika on Wednesday.

On his arrival to the temple, he was received by Temple Chairman Sridharan and EO Vijaya. Later the EO had the darshan of Tanikesan.

This famous shrine of Lord Muruga, also known as Tanikesan, is located on a small hillock in Tiruttani of Tamil Nadu, about 50 kilometres from Tirupati. Tiruttani is considered to be one among six prime temples “Arupadaiveedu” dedicated to Lord Muruga. It is believed that Lord Muruga married one of his consorts, Sri Valli, at this sacred place.

TTD has been offering the silk vastrams to the presiding deity as a gift from Venkateswara Swamy on this important festival day since 2006.
