Leader of the Opposition and TDP chief Chandrababu Naidu has demanded a CBI investigation into the violence that occurred in Punganur of Chittoor and Angalla of Annamayya district during his recent tour.

While currently touring in Vizianagaram district, Chandrababu Naidu held a press conference to denounce the police’s filing of cases against him and TDP activists.

He claimed that YSRC leaders conspired to harm him and questioned how the police could register a case against him. He rhetorically inquired, “They wanted to kill me, and now there is an attempt to murder case against me?”

Naidu held the police responsible for remaining passive spectators while YSR Congress activists threw stones at TDP activists and set police vehicles ablaze. He presented video clips of the incident as evidence and accused the police of inaction and YSR Congress activists of engaging in criminal activities.

He criticised the police for lodging cases against TDP leaders and members, asserting that numerous TDP activists had already been arrested, placing the blame on the Chief Minister for these arrests. Chandrababu Naidu pointed out that both the media and SPG security personnel were present when the YSR Congress activists attacked his convoy in Punganur.

He discredited the evidence gathered by the police, alleging that the video clips were manipulated and not genuine.
