Task Force seizes 9 kgs of ganja from delivery boy

In a joint operation, the Commissioner’s Task Force, West Zone team, and Banjara Hills Police apprehended one individual for possession of 9 kilograms of dry ganja and arrested seven consumers who had purchased the narcotic substance. The accused, identified as Santhosh Kumar Rout, a 25-year-old Swiggy delivery agent and a native of Odisha, was caught based on credible information.  
Santhosh Kumar Rout, originally from Kendjahar district in Odisha, came to Hyderabad in 2021. Initially working as a security guard and delivery agent, his income proved insufficient for his needs. Seeking an easier source of income, he came in contact with Govind, a known ganja peddler from Odisha. Santhosh purchased the narcotics from Govind and transported approximately 9 kilograms of ganja to Hyderabad by train.
He stored the contraband at his residence in Nandi Nagar, Banjara Hills.  
Acting on a tip-off, the Task Force and Banjara Hills Police raided Santhosh’s residence and apprehended him along with seven individuals who had purchased ganja.
