The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) activists, led by Telugu Yuvatha district president Ravipati Sai Krishna, organised a novel protest by releasing paper boats on a puddle highlighting the pathetic state of roads.

The TDP activists released paper boats on a puddle located on the Pedda Palakaluru near Ratnagiri Nagar on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, Sai Krishna ridiculed that Guntur has become ‘Guntaluru’ in the Jagan Mohan Reddy headed regime.

He lamented that all roads in the district were in a pathetic state and they were so damaged that they could not be used by motorists. All the roads are full of potholes, he regretted.

Andhra Pradesh state which has earned fame as Annapuran, has been ruined with the unwise decisions, wrong policies and misadministration of the YSRCP led government, Sai Krishna slammed.

When Nara Lokesh was the Panchayat Minister 24,500 km of roads were laid, he recalled. He demanded the government to release a ‘white paper’ on the reconstruction, repairing and laying of the roads during the YSRCP government.

“The Chief Minister spent Rs 9 crore to travel a 9 km distance by flying on a helicopter to reach the venue of a meeting. The TDP will launch an agitation demanding the government to reconstruct the damaged roads, if the government does not respond,” the TDP leader warned.

TDP leaders Kalluri Srinivasa Rao, Urban general secretary Muttineni Rajesh, state Telugu Yuvatha vice president SK Firoz and ITDP vice president Panchumarti Seshi were among those who participated in the programme.
