As a court case was pending between the family members of Aluri Chinna, who is a follower of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), regarding the lease of a property, the Police and the Revenue officials vacated the TDP office at Gollapudi near Vijayawada on Thursday.

In the wee hours, a police force reached Gollapudi and with their support, the Revenue officials demolished the shed and shifted furniture, flexes and other valuable goods from the TDP office to Gollapudi sachivalayam. For that, the police closed all roads leading to the party office in Gollapudi and made the house arrest of former minister Devineni Uma Maheswara Rao to prevent untoward incidents.

Later, Sesharatnam, mother of Aluri Chinna, installed a board for Bommasani Subbaiah Chowdary complex and painted the walls. The police prevented TDP leaders and cadres from entering the road.

Meanwhile, Aluri Chinna alleged that MLC and Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy’s Programmes Coordinator Talasila Raghu Ram intentionally created problems among his family members. He said that he got the property after a gift registration from his family members and later got a bank loan. “How can the collector cancel the gift deed,” he asked.

“Talasila Raghu Ram wants to contest from Mylavaram in the next elections. So, he wanted to set up a party office on my property, and offered to take the land on lease. But I did not go to his office, for which he threatened me and my family members,” he alleged.

He further said that regarding the property dispute, a court case was pending at the High Court. Vijayawada Rural Tahsildar B Srinivas Naik had given a notice for resolving the problem on December 28. In the meantime, the Police and Revenue officials vacated the party office, he added.

Devineni Uma Maheswarar Rao alleged that the Police, Revenue and Panchayat Raj Department officials were misusing their powers. As part of conspicuous politics, the ruling YSRCP leaders vacated the TDP office from the said land, he said.

Meanwhile, Vijayawada West Zone ACP Dr K Hanumantha Rao said that as per the government orders, the police had given protection to Sesharatnam. To prevent untoward incidents and control Law and Order, Devineni Uma was placed under house arrest, he said.
