Minister Malla Reddy hinted that the RTC being absorbed into the State government is an “election stunt”. In this order, a reporter asked whether the RTC merger was an election stunt as the opposition is alleging. “Think it’s an election stunt, think anything… ours is a political party… elections are coming soon; so there will be an election stunt anyway,” Malla Reddy said.
Malla Reddy immediately tried to correct himself and said, “It was good for the RTC workers even if it was for the election stunt. If RTC is to be absorbed by the State government, there must be guts and funds. All the workers are happy with CM KCR’s decision.”
The Minister said that the Chief Minister had taken a bold decision by merging 43,373 RTC workers into the government. He termed this merger as “double ka meetha” – popular bread dish.
