Miss World 2025 is set to begin on May 10 with an opening ceremony at Gachibowli Indoor Stadium, featuring contestants from 140 countries. The event will showcase Telangana’s folk and tribal dances in a parade-style format. Contestants will arrive at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport on May 6 and 7.
In the first press conference at The Tourism Plaza on Thursday, Tourism Minister Jupally Krishna Rao called the event a great opportunity to highlight Telangana’s beauty. He commended Miss World Organization CEO Julia Morley for maintaining the pageant’s legacy at 86 and wished reigning Miss World 2025 Krystyna Pyszkova well. He emphasized the importance of celebrating women’s transformation, beauty and values.
The Minister highlighted the economic power of cultural events, comparing Miss World’s impact to BTS band’s role in South Korea’s economy and the Jurassic Park franchise’s success, hoping that Telangana will surpass the record with the hosting of Miss World 2025. He announced that Telangana is spending a budget of Rs 27 crore on the event, mostly funded by sponsors.
Meanwhile, Tourism Secretary Smita Sabharwal announced plans for 24 teams from all departments to coordinate with the Tourism department to manage the event.
She also noted that the contestant’s activities include visiting over 20 different venues, competing in events, cultural performances, a spiritual tour at Buddhavanam, heritage visits to Chowmahalla Palace and Ramappa temple and interactions with students in Warangal. They will also visit T-Hub, Telangana Police Integrated Command and Control Centre, State Secretariat, Experium Eco Tourism Park, Yadagirigutta temple, Pochampally’s handloom centre and major hospitals along with a gala dinner at Taj Falaknuma.

Key competitions include the Sports Finale on May 17, Talent Finale on May 22 and Fashion Finale on May 24. The grand Miss World Final will be held at Hitex on May 31, with the winner meeting Telangana’s Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy on June 2.
