TS politicians focussing on 60 Karnataka constituencies

Must read

Of the 224 Assembly constituencies in Karnataka, around 60 are of interest to Telangana-based politicians. The leaders of the Telangana units of the Congress, the BJP and the BRS are going to campaign actively in the Karnataka Assembly elections scheduled for May 10.

Karnataka politicians say that in around 60 Assembly constituencies Telugus hold the key. Keeping this in view the leaderships of the Congress and the BJP have asked their leaders to campaign actively in Karnataka areas where Telugus are present in sizable numbers.

The BRS which is supporting the Janata Dal (S) has also decided to send their leaders to campaign in Karnataka for Janata Dal (S) candidates.

The leaders of the Congress, the BJP and the BRS who are campaigning in Karnataka will concentrate on constituencies where Telugus have a significant say.

While the leaderships of the BJP and the Congress are focused on coming to power, the Telangana leaders of these parties and the BRS are concentrating only on the 60 constituencies.

In fact, the BJP and the Congress have given Assembly tickets in some of these constituencies to Telugus who have settled in Karnataka to win the hearts of Telugus. The Congress and the BJP are sending their leaders from Andhra Pradesh also to campaign in Karnataka. In fact, most of the Telugus in Karnataka are from Andhra Pradesh.

Meanwhile, the leaders of the Congress and the BJP in Telangana are planning to claim that the people of Telangana support their party in case their party wins most of these 60 constituencies.

BRS leaders also think that if most of the Telugu constituencies are won by the Janata Dal (S) then they can claim that Telugus in general and that the people of Telangana support them.

After the Karnataka Assembly elections, the Election Commission and political parties will concentrate on the Telangana Assembly elections which could be held in or before December 2023.

All major political parties have been saying from the beginning that the results of the Karnataka election will have an impact on the Telangana Assembly elections. So the Telangana leaders of the Congress and the BJP will try to win more seats in Karnataka’s Telugu areas to prove that they have the upper hand in TS.
