TS Swacch ranking improves from 11 to 4

Telangana won 23 awards in the Swachh Survekshan–2022 (SS). Of this, 16 awards were handed over during the Azadi@75 Swachh Survekshan–22 event held in New Delhi on October 1.

The MoHUA announced Rank No: 2 and No: 3 in the ‘fast mover city’ category on November 21 in which Telangana bagged seven more awards.

The overall ranking of Telangana has improved from number 11 in SS-21 to number 4 in SS-22. In the South Zone category, out of the 30 awards, Telangana bagged 21 awards.  
Warangal was adjudged the third fastest-moving city in the national category. Telangana with 21 out of 30 awards came first among the five states in the south zone.

The MoHUA has requested states to felicitate award-winning cities. Three ULBs won awards under the National Level League, that is, the Indian Swachhatha League, which was conducted for the first time.

Under the Prerak Dauur Sammam category the number of awards was increased from three in 2020-21 to seven in 2021-22. Telangana came second in the country in the number of awards won.ODF++ towns have increased from eight in 2020-21 to 45 in 2021-22 due to efforts made under the state-level flagship Pattana Pragathi Programme.
