The government is committed to provide houses or sites to all eligible poor people and that this would benefit one crore families, Municipal Administration KT Rama Rao said.

Over 1.25 lakh beneficiaries were given title deeds (pattas) in 2014. The verification process for deciding the beneficiaries of 20,685 houses has been completed as per GO: 58. The Cabinet Sub Committee meeting on house sites met under the Chairmanship of the Minister on Monday. The Sub Committee directed to speed up the issue of house site pattas. The meeting discussed issues connected to providing house sites to all eligible beneficiaries in the state. Issues relating to implementation of GO: 58, GO: 59, Sadabinama, Notarised documents, endowment/Waqf lands etc were discussed at the meeting.

KTR directed officials to come up with a “people first” policy under which people below the poverty line given house site title deeds.

Referring to notarised documents which are prevalent in urban areas, the Cabinet Sub-Committee asked officials to finalise the procedure and the time-bound action plan.

The committee requested all officials to take a “pro-poor” approach and speed up the completion of all formalities in all eligible cases.

The Minister for Finance, T. Harish Rao, Minister for Animal Husbandry Talasani Srinivas Yadav, Minister for Panchayat Raj E. Dayakar Rao, Education Minister Sabitha Indra Reddy, Labour Minister Ch. Malla Reddy, Transport Minister Puvvada Ajay Kumar, Excise Minister Srinivas Goud, Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari, Special CS Irrigation Rajat Kumar, Spl CS Finance K. Ramakrishna Rao, Spl CS. MAUD Arvind Kumar and other officials attended the meeting.
