TSRTC to operate 4,484 special buses for Sankranti

The Telangana State Road Transport Corporation has planned to arrange 4,484 special buses for Sankranti festival, out of which advance reservation facility has been provided for 626 buses. These special buses will be available for passengers from January 7 to 15. TSRTC MD VC Sajjanar held a review meeting with officials at Bus Bhavan on Friday regarding the arrangement of special buses for Sankranti.
Sajjanar said, “All arrangements are being made for Sankranti in accordance with the rush of passengers. Special buses are running in congested areas like MGBS, JBS, Uppal Cross Roads, Arangar, LB Nagar Cross Roads, KPHB, Bowenpally, Gachibowli and other areas. Chairs, tents, public address system, drinking water facility and mobile toilets are being set up for the convenience of passengers. At every congested area two officers will be deployed as incharges for looking at the services.
“Also, the RTC will run special buses for Andhra Pradesh to add to the scheduled buses. There will be no increase in bus fares for Sankranti and special bus services will be run at normal fares.

The free bus travel for women will be available in the Palle Velugu, Express, City Ordinary and Metro Express buses even during Sankranti. Women are advised to travel with zero tickets, by producing Aadhaar card,” he mentioned.
