There is speculation that Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy is likely to visit Vijayawada Kanakadurga temple soon. It is not yet clear whether during his visit, he will meet AP Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy or not. When Revanth met former Telangana CM KCR, he may not have any objection to meet Jagan also, because as Chief Ministers, both have to solve several pending issues between both the states. If Revanth is willing to meet Jagan, the latter may also have no objection. The relationship between both the Telugu states depends on the relations between the two Telugu Chief Ministers.
How will be the relations between both the Telugu states is the question uppermost among political circles after the Congress came to power in Telangana. In the 2014 Assembly elections after Andhra Pradesh State bifurcation, TRS in Telangana and TDP in Andhra Pradesh had come to power.
With the political rivalry between Naidu and KCR, the relations between both the Telugu states were not good as the people of both Telugu states had not come out from the hangover of State bifurcation struggle.
In the 2018 Telangana Assembly elections, the BRS retained power and in 2019 Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh, YSR Congress came to power with YS Jagan Mohan Reddy becoming the Chief Minister. For both Jagan and K Chandrasekhar Rao, former AP CM Chandrababu Naidu is a political rival. This has brought both the Telugu Chief Ministers close.
For some time, both the Telugu CMs maintained good relations. But later the differences have come to the fore between both of them. The relations with the Central government also distanced both the Chief Ministers. Now the Congress came to power in Telangana. For AP CM Jagan, the Congress is a political rival as it has sent him to jail.
Interestingly, some of the Telangana Congress leaders, including some ministers who closely sailed with late Chief Minister YS Rajasekhar Reddy have a soft corner on Jagan. At the same time there are some TDP leaders in AP who have close relations with the Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy.
TDP supremo Chandrababu Naidu is the political guru of Revanth Reddy. In an interesting document, Telangana Minister Komatireddy Venkata Reddy extended support to the demand of special category status to AP.
