Industries Minister KT Ramarao denied any scam in leasing out the Outer Ring Road for 30 years and challenged opposition parties to prove their allegations.
He said he is ready to quit politics if they can prove their charges and asserted that the lease was executed strictly adhering to the Centre’s guidelines for National Highways and in the way done by Congress-ruled Rajasthan.
He spoke for around two hours during a discussion on ‘Infrastructure Development Under Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi’ in the Assembly.
KTR also offered to resign immediately if the BJP and the Congress can prove any other state is doing better than Telangana. The Congress and the BJP are Delhi arrows but KCR is the Brahmastram of Telangana people, he said.
KTR compared the Congress to a dead snake and said that the party is politically bankrupt. “The Congress is like the Pakistan cricket team where all players are captains,” he said.
He said everyone wants to be the CM in the Congress and added that Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan recognised Telangana’s development but the opposition is not able to understand it.“We have taken up the construction of 2.28 lakh double-bedroom houses. One double-bedroom house is equivalent to seven Indiramma houses,” he said.
He said, “Chai pe charcha is over. It is now cylinder, Manipur pe charcha.” KTR said that RTI is ‘Route to Income’ for some while speaking about Revanth Reddy.
KTR said that capital expenditure from 2015 to 2022 was 15% in Chattisgarh, 16% in Rajasthan and 26% in Telangana.
He said that KCR designed schemes that will last 10 generations and that the development achieved in the state will be remembered by future generations. We are spending 26 per cent of the budget on infrastructure, he added.
He said the Congress can promise whatever it wants, but credibility is not on sale.
“They are dreaming in Telangana because they won in Karnataka. The Congress has lost credibility here. The Congress doesn’t have any leaders and so they have brought leaders from neighbouring states. They promised Rs 2 lakh loan waiver but people stood by KCR who said Rs 1 lakh loan waiver. Referring to Sanjay KTR said, “Bandi is now in shed.”
He also displayed Palle Pragathi and Pattana Pragathi photos from panchayats and ULBs.
KTR said Congress needs permission from New Delhi even to use the washroom. He pulled up Bhatti Vikramarka about a spoiled water meter in his house and pending dues and said that there was no order for water tankers from his house.
“Bhatti’s comments that we are getting tankers for water every day are false. Bhatti has not booked a single tanker since January 2022 and had to pay a water bill of Rs 2.90 lakh due to a faulty meter in his house. Had the meter worked the free water scheme would have been applicable to Bhatti’s house as well. We are giving 20,000 litres of fresh water to everyone in the city free,” KTR said.
“In 10 years, we have spent Rs 1.22 lakh crore for the Municipal Administration Department. 35 flyovers were constructed under SRDP. But the BJP couldn’t construct two flyovers at Amberpet and Uppal,” he said.
He said that the BRS will come back to power 100 per cent.
