Woman brutally murdered

In a gruesome incident, unidentified miscreants brutally murdered a woman by slitting her throat in front of her house at Kottaramiahpet in Polavaram mandal on the night of Sunday.
Police said that the deceased Meduri Durga (38) was working as an agricultural labourer.  On Sunday she disbursed wages to some workers and retained the remaining money with her. On the night of Sunday, her son came home and found his mother in a pool of blood. The money and other valuables in the almirah were found missing.
Meduri Mutyala Rao, the husband of the deceased woman, informed the police. DSP N Suresh Kumar Reddy and CI Gummalla Madhubabu rushed to the village. Clue teams and sniffer dogs were pressed into service for clues. The police suspect it was a murder for gain.
The police registered a case and shifted the body for postmortem.
