World Earth Day  Hands-on training in pottery made of clay a big draw

As a part of Wildlife Education Programme ‘World Earth Day’, Nehru Zoological Park (NZP) on Sunday organised a workshop on hands-on training in pottery and other articles made up of clay with practical demonstration given by the well-known artist Pentaiah and his team.
In all, 500 visitors, irrespective of gender and age, participated in the programme and practiced making pots, water jars, glasses and food-serving utensils. Most of the visitors appreciated the Zoo Director for choosing this kind of concept for educating the visitors in a practical manner. The visitors were given hands-on training in making the clay pots and other utensils used in daily life and revealed the importance of biodegradables in biodiversity.

Dr Sunil S Hiremath, Director (FAC) & Curator, Nehru Zoological Park, Hyderabad, congratulated the visitors on the occasion of “World Earth Day”.
