YSRCP launches ‘Operation Akarsh’

Must read

In a calculated strategic manoeuvre ahead of the upcoming elections, the YSR Congress Party (YCP) has rolled out ‘Operation Akarsh’, a multifaceted initiative designed to attract disenchanted leaders from rival political factions. With a substantial budget at its disposal, the party is sparing no effort to fortify its ranks and clinch victory in the impending polls. Dubbed ‘Operation Akarsh’, the operation aims to lure influential figures from opposing parties with lucrative financial incentives, ranging from substantial sums of Rs 10 lakh to crore of rupees, tailored to the stature of the leader.
This aggressive recruitment drive, meticulously orchestrated across all constituencies, underscores the YSRCP’s unwavering commitment to consolidating power. Primary targets of ‘Operation Akarsh’ include disgruntled members of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Jana Sena Party, who harbour feelings of neglect within their respective organisations.
Leveraging internal discord and denied opportunities within rival parties, the YCP has capitalized on these grievances to bolster its ranks significantly. Of particular note is the party’s outreach to grassroots-level leaders and former politicians, signalling a comprehensive approach to expansion. Unexpected additions to the YCP fold, such as former Visakhapatnam corporator Ravi Raj and ex-corporator Boggu Srinivas, underscore the party’s inclusive recruitment strategy.
In a bold demonstration of political acumen, YSR Congress chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy has personally spearheaded the welcoming of defectors, ceremonially adorning them with scarves at the prestigious Tadepalli Palace.
This symbolic gesture not only underscores the party’s confidence but also serves as a visual testament to its burgeoning influence. Despite substantial financial inducements, the recruitment drive has faced resistance from several prominent figures who remain elusive. Nevertheless, Chief Minister Jaganmohan Reddy persists in his efforts, casting a wide net to secure leaders at all levels and fortify the party’s position ahead of the elections.
As ‘Operation Akarsh’ continues to unfold, its ramifications extend beyond party politics, shaping the electoral landscape of Andhra Pradesh.
