As many as 33 APSRTC bus passengers had a miraculous escape as the brake rod of the bus broke resulting in veering off the road and ramming a tree at Marripadu village on Wednesday.
According to official sources, the ill-fated RTC bus was going to Udayagiri from Nellore. The bus suffered a jolt while it was going through a massive pothole on the road resulting in the brake rod being broken.
The driver lost control over the bus resulting in it veering off the road and halted after ramming a tree. All the passengers escaped unhurt and they were sent in another bus some time later.
