The police seized 490 kg ganja worth about Rs 1 crore at Sadika village in Chintapalli mandal in Alluri Sitarama Raju district.
Circle Inspector Ramesh told the media on Thursday that on a tip-off a police team conducted a raid at the village and arrested Satish Kumar and Korra Venkata Rao.
On the information provided by them, the police seized the ganja at a teak plantation. The ganja was neatly packed in several bags. The ganja was brought from Odisha state. They were selling the ganja to some people.
On seeing the police the duo tried to flee but the police arrested them. The police seized 490 KGs ganja, worth about Rs 1 crore, Rs 74,000 cash, an auto rickshaw, and a two-wheeler from them. The arrested were produced before the court which sent them to the judicial remand, the CI said.
