81K cr worth of MoUs signed by govt: CS

Chief Secretary KS Jawahar Reddy has said that 30 energy-efficient financing projects have been identified by the government, the highest number by any other state government. AP has an investment potential of 10 lakh crore by 2031.

Addressing the Investment Bazaar Workshop here on Friday, he said that the AP government is focussing on green energy investments and it entered into MoUs for projects worth Rs.81,000 crore.

Under the National Energy Conservation Week, the AP State Energy Conservation Mission, the Energy Department organised the Investment Bazaar Workshop with the objective of bringing together energy experts, solution providers, products & services, key stakeholders from the Government, financial institutions, industry, and ESCOs under one platform to deliberate and share best practices, ideas, and financing options in the energy efficiency space.

Jawahar Reddy appealed to the people to follow energy and water conservation methods which are the need of the hour to protect the planet. He said the proposal for making a provision to ensure providing at least 5 per cent interest subvention in the scheme for MSMEs/Industries that is planned by MoP, GoI, will attract many entrepreneurs to implement EE projects that ultimately help the State as well as nation’s energy efficiency objectives.

Special Chief Secretary (Energy) K Vijayanand said that the State had already announced a renewable energy export policy to promote investments in the renewable energy sector to attract investors by establishing wind-solar hybrid projects which would help strengthen the energy sector in the State. He suggested to the APSECM to conduct more investment bazaar meetings in various districts of the State and create awareness among industries and investors about the future of the energy efficiency sector.  

JMD HRD & Admin, APTRANSCO, I Prudhvi Tej along with CMD APCPDCL J Padma Janardhana Reddy, representatives from industries, including NSL Textiles, Ramco Cements, JSW Cement, Ravali Spinners and representatives from banks, including SBI, Indian Bank and Union Bank of India, participated in the conference.
