Around one in every six candidates is hired so far in our country — not only does a fine-tuned recruitment process allow you to hit your hiring goals but it also facilitates you to do so quickly and at scale.
“Recruitment brings forth a host of daily challenges that demand our attention. The quest for qualified candidates is an ongoing endeavor, pitting us against fierce competition from rival companies. Moreover, we grapple with the task of managing a substantial volume of applications, meticulously sifting through resumes to unearth the most promising talents. Amidst this, ensuring a harmonious cultural fit within our organization remains a vital objective. However, the suspense doesn’t end with the selection process. We eagerly await the arrival of chosen candidates on their designated joining dates, hopeful that they honor their commitment. This aspect adds an additional layer of complexity, as we navigate through the uncertainties of candidate availability. To navigate these challenges successfully, we employ a strategic and agile approach, adapting to the ever-evolving recruitment landscape and bringing the necessary solutions to maintain a high retention rate,” explains Dr.Ravinder Goyal, co-founder, Erekrut HR Automation Solutions Pvt.Ltd!
Given the ever-increasing inflation rates, the cost of living has risen significantly, leading to increased expectations from talented individuals. He continued, “When considering potential candidates, it is crucial to understand their financial needs and expenses. While interviewing, we run open and transparent conversations about their budgetary requirements and ensure that their expectations align with the company’s offerings. We also understand that growth opportunities play a pivotal role in attracting and retaining talent. Hence, we stay flexible and allow slight variations of around 10-20% for exceptional candidates. But we make sure that we don’t cross the given budget. This strategic approach helps us build a mutually beneficial arrangement that aligns with the requirements of both parties while keeping the talent pool motivated, engaged, and committed to giving their best.”
Higher salaries are not a challenge as long as they align with the available budget. “But we also carefully analyze the intent of the candidate during the process. For instance, if a candidate expects a hike without backing it up with some exceptional achievements or a proven track record, it raises concerns about their overall fit for the position. While interviewing, we prioritize other relevant factors that go beyond a financial raise, such as their skills, experience, and potential contributions to the company. Doing so helps us ensure that our hiring decisions are based on a comprehensive assessment of their overall suitability for the role and the organization,” tells the expert.
Zoom interviews have emerged as a game-changing avenue to conduct interviews flexibly. Apart from the time and cost savings for candidates who no longer need to travel, companies also benefit by reducing expenses related to hosting in-person interviews. Furthermore, remote hiring platforms also allow us to focus on the essential requirements rather than being swayed by a candidate’s persona and personality! “The trend of employees gravitating towards contractual or work-from-home jobs has indeed gained momentum recently. Various factors such as flexibility, work-life balance, and the growing availability of remote work opportunities are behind this trend. While we acknowledge the relevance of remote work in certain situations, we also believe that working in a physical office setting fosters better collaboration, teamwork, and synergy among employees. It also allows for more immediate communication and access to resources, which can be crucial for certain roles or projects. However, we understand the changing landscape and evolving needs of our workforce. As such, we actively engage in discussions with our employees to gauge their preferences and explore potential flexible arrangements whenever possible. This ensures that we strike a balance between accommodating their needs while maintaining our focus on maintaining an office-based work environment.”
