Where is the need to kill you(KCR)? Will anybody kill a dead snake: CM

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy lashed out at BRS President K. Chandrasekhar Rao for using
‘intemperate language’ against him. Meanwhile, as the CM was speaking against KCR, BRS legislators staged a walkout protesting at the CM’s words.
The Chief Minister took strong exception to some remarks made by his predecessor at a public meeting in Nalgonda on Tuesday and dared him to come to the Assembly and participate in the debate on the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project.
Intervening during a debate on
the Vote-on-Account Budget, the
Chief Minister asked if there should
be a debate on the language used
by KCR against him at the
Nalgonda meeting.
“Can a person who functioned as
a Union Minister, Chief Minister,
State Minister, MP and MLA use
such language against an elected
Chief Minister,” Revanth asked.
He said that people taught a lesson to BRS leaders but they have
not come to their senses still. The
Chief Minister said that people
took off KCR’s pants in the recent
elections and in future, they would
pull off his shirt also.
“KCR was defeated. He fell flat
and broke his bones. Is this the language that can be against a CM
elected by the people of Telangana?
Is this Telangana culture?” he said.
On KCR’s allegation of a conspiracy to kill him, Revanth asked,
“Where is the need to kill you? Will
anybody kill a dead snake?”
Revanth said that KCR was running away from his responsibility
as the Leader of the Opposition as
he was apprehensive that his massive corruption in the Kaleshwaram
project would get exposed.
Declaring that the government
was ready for a debate on the
Kaleshwaram project and Godavari
waters, he dared KCR to come to the
Assembly and take part in the
debate.
“If he is honest and has not
engaged in corruption, he should
come to the Assembly,” the Chief
Minister said.
On KCR’s allegation that the government deliberately did not fill the
Medigadda Barrage (a part of the
Kaleshwaram project), Revanth
asked how is it possible to fill a sinking storage facility.
He asked KCR and Harish Rao if
they were ready to take the responsibility of filling the Medigadda
Barrage and pump water up to Annaram and Sundilla barrages.
Revanth Reddy, who visited
the Meddigadda Barrage along
with Congress Ministers,
MLAs and MLAs of the
AIMIM and the CPI reiterated the charge that public funds
worth Rs 94,000 crore was
wasted in the Kaleshwaram
Project.
Some of the remarks made
by Revanth against KCR
evoked a strong reaction from
BRS legislators who staged a
walk-out from the House.
After coming out, the BRS
MLAs tried to proceed towards
Media Point on the Assembly
premises to address the media
but were stopped by the police
saying that it can’t be used
when the House is in session.
BRS legislators including
former ministers KT Rama
Rao and Harish Rao argued
with the policemen posted
there. KTR asked “Is this censorship?” and the BRS MLAs
raised slogans like “This is
fences regime.”
The BRS leaders said that
the government was trying to
silence them and added that
they had staged a walk-out as
they were not allowed to
respond to the CM’s remarks.
They said that when they
wanted to speak at the Media
Point they were stopped from
doing so.
BRS MLA Kadiyam Srihari
said, “We condemn Revanth’s
inappropriate language in the
Assembly. He is using offensive
language and they are going
into the Assembly’s records.
The Speaker is not allowing us
to speak when we demanded
those remarks to be removed
from the records.”
Congress MLA
Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy
said on the floor of the House
that MLA Kadiyam Srihari
cheated T. Rajaiah twice. He
said, “I don’t know whether I
will become a minister or not
but you cannot become a minister in this life.”
Condemning Rajgopal’s
statements, BRS MLA Palla
Rajeshwar Reddy said, “The
inappropriate language used by
Komatireddy Rajgopal Reddy
about senior MLA and Dalit
leader Kadiyam Srihari should
be removed from the records
immediately.”
